1996 75hp force questions

ok a couple of questions.
first I can hear a slight chatter that is comeing from the top of the bottom end, just underneath the power head, only hear it when you are right next too the motor... is this normal,,, its not comeing from the very bottom of the lower end , kinda the top of bottom end,,, confusing I know...
second question, running a 10.25 x 14 prop,,, getting 5800 wot, and 32mph... is this ok,,, rpms all right,,,,,thanks mike

Don't know what the chatter could be, unless it is the shift shaft rattling in the guide hole. Not a problem.

RPM are ok, if that is with a near empty boat. Mine is set up to hit 5700 with an empty boat. When I load it up, I only hit 5300.

You will save lots of fuel if you back the throttle down a little, so the rpm's are about 5000.

If you need to replace the prop, getting a 10.375x 15, will drop the rpm a couple hundred.
