Hi Guys, <br />I am looking at a used boat, and I have found a 1997 17' CC with an 1996 88HP Johnson motor. The boat looks like it is great shape. Origional owner bought it in Oklahoma area and used it for bass fishing. He passed away and the widow placed it in the garage and it ast there for quite a while. After a few years the current owner purchased it and brought it to Pensacola. He used it in the bays around here some last year mainly during the spring and summer. The motor looks like the orgional paint on it, vurtuly no corrosion, The prop still has all the same paint as the rest of the motor, yup no chips or wear showing on the prop at all. The motor was serviced in January and the plugs and and seals were changed. It was serviced again in July, It had preventive maintenance done. He said the mechanic said that the compression was excellent. The boat has many extras and such. He is asking for less than 6k. I asked him why he was selling it and he said that he has spent more time golfing than fishing and decided that since he was just paying for a spot on the storage lot, he might as well just sell it. My question is: Does anyone know anything about this manufacture or the boat itself or about this type of motor. He asid it was a 2 stroke. But he doesn't know any warrenty info in it. Since it is not over 10K I wasn't looking at finding a surveyor. Any help or advise would help. I am planning on doing a bay test with it. <br /><br />Any advise would help, thanks
