Neighbour just bought a 1996 90hp merc O/B. Oil leaks from reservoir cap when motor tilted. Bought new cap assembly and no change. Was this a common problem and is there a cap upgrade available?<br />thanks
Are you sure it's leaking from the cap? There's usually a vent hole of some kind that sometimes sloshes oil out. I prevent this by only filling the reservoir about 2/3 of the way.
