1996 evenrude 40 hp no top end power

I have a question about my 96 evenrude 40 hp. it is on a 16-6 foot lowe deep v boat with 3 people in it used to plane no problem now it seems not to come up to top end. It has a new power head last year runs and starts fine. The prop on it 11 3/4/ x 17. The air temp now is around 30 we use it for hunting. NEED HELP PLEASE

when was the carb last cleaned and rebuilt? have you checked spark on both cylinders? air temp should have little to do with it. how long has the boat sat with out use?

The carbs were done with the power head, the boat never really sits just from Feb till May , never checked spark any ideas

check your spark on both cylinders, also a carb can clog 5 minutes after being cleaned. it takes very little to clog or partially clog a high speed jet. also when the engine is not getting enough fuel, it is not getting enough oil, to keep it lubricated.
