1996 Evinrude 130hp

Yesterday i went out and after about 5mins of driving a constent beep started sounding and the motor just slowed right down and as id rev the motor it was just reving out like i had spun a prop
the beep stopped after about 30secs, after about 1min the motor run fine for rest of day

what could this be?

cooling blockage, or lack of oil to the vro pump. which probably corrected itself.

another thing is when i got home i noticed that the water coming out the motor is boiling hot is this normal

aswell as that when i take the boat of the trailer at the ramp it starts no probs i go to dock after a couple of mins motor cuts out like its not reving hard enough
then if i start again quickly drive off motor is good

And when did you replace the water pump & thermostats last?
