i just bought a 1996 evinrude 225 hp v6 ocean pro carburated outboard with a new factory powerhead. i also just replaced the stator. i noticed that the top two spark plugs look black and or a charcol gray after just 3 hrs of cruising (30 mph). the other four plugs look fine, the ceramic is still light and creamy looking with an oil residue. Please help. the engine runs fine. doesn't miss and sounds really good. i am just concerned about those top two cylinders. by the way, when i put the stator on the mechanic checked the compression and said it was fine.
