I wonder why they mention hours ?

I saw an advert for a new Mercury engine it said " Hours of pleasure"

Surely an engine should be good for years so why don`t they say "Buy Mercury and have Years and years of pleasure"

I appreciate your cander! I just wanted to know the boat didnt have an hour meter the compressoin was 130 or so across the board I was just cvhecking to see if there was and internal meter like my Mercruiser 525 EFI

On 2S outboards, only the DI motors (Ficht, Optimax, E-Tec), which use ignition computers, track engine hours and a bunch of other data as well.
