When I launch the boat and start the engine for the first time of the day it starts up with no problem. I run out to my fishing spot turn the engine off. when I go to restart it weather it be in 10 min. or 2 hours it is hard to start. it will fire up and the die out. i have tried to rev it up and it bogs down and cuts out. after about 4 to 5 attempts I get it going and then everything is fine. Could it be the carb floats leaking gas into the crankcase and flooding it out while i am stopped?

PS. I already changed the primer ball

Funny how there are so many of these posts with the weather warming up. I'm thinking it's heat soak and the gas 'evaporating' out of the carbs while sitting. There are tons of people with this problem but I still can't find a good fix.

check the position of your primer solenoid. i have a 2000 johnson and mine seems to flip on its own every now and then. they put it in a really bad spot where wires to the control box hit it and from steering sometimes it can knock the primer into the wrong position.
