1996 JOHNSON 115 BATTERY QUESTION

i've got a 24 foot pontoon boat i've had it trying to find leaks. i bought a 12vdc pump i've got it plumbed in to use like a bildge pump. question is. the pump won't be used much but it pulls 6 amps i have a spare battery if i hooked it up in parallel more ampere hours will it hurt the stator or rectifier? the motor is a 1996 115 johnson.

It won't hurt the stator or rectifier as long as all connections are clean and tight.<br /><br />What you want to do is the same as having dual batteries hooked up with a battery switch, but you are eliminating the switch... no problem.
