1996 johnson 115 fast strike .

Still waiting on my repair book, but I am having problems with my tach not working. Starting from the tachometer back to the engine, what are all major parts that are in the system. I i know a rectifier, but what else. thanks and happy boating.

gray wire from rectifier to control box, there is probably a lead from the control box to the tach. check to see it that is attached.

Do you have an ohmmeter with a DVA adapter ??

Not sure what the rectifier looks like. Is it behind the flywheel with a few wires (1 that is grey) going to a box with stuff that looks like greenish gel on top that looks sealed. tx for your patience, i am new to outboard motors/ engines.

forget the above statment. i found it and it looks good. i will go out and see if i have a dva adaptor, prob not though...........stay tuned.
