1996 Johnson 130 Hp Cold Acceleration

Hi there,

My '96 130hp Johnson surges when I attempt to get on plane when it is cold. It is almost like it's starving for fuel and then all of a sudden the rpm's jump to normal and it runs fine.

I service it every year myself and I have even tried decarbonizing the motor with tuner. There is no water in the fuel and the plugs are replaced every year. Fuel filters also get replaced annually.

Can anyone help me?

you could have clogged mid speed jets in the carb.
