The 96 V6 looper is a great motor. If it could be rebuilt rather than replaced is an option too. Just make sure you figure out what caused the problem -- and correct that. Don't just replace damaged parts. There is a reason they got damaged.<br /><br />As good as the motor is that you have, you'll be amazed at the E-Tec. <br /><br />You're up aginst the age old delima. Rebuilding, if possible, is less expensive than replacing the powerhead. Replacing the powerhead is less expensive than buying a new motor. However, a new motor can be financed. <br /><br />To answer your question -- theres no reason a rebuilt motor wont last 7 years. Many more actually. As long as its maintained properly. and you find and correct the cause of the current problem.
