So I recently picked up a 1996 Larson 19' Sei BR with the 5.0 Volvo.

I can tell already that the floor will need replaced and am curious to know if anyone has torn the deck of a similar Larson before so I know what I'm getting into. Summers just starting and I hope it will last until later this fall before I have to dig into it.

Also anyone know where I can get a port window and moldings?

Thanks

Re: 1996 Larson 193 sei

Brad,

I finished a floor/stringer replacement on my 1995 Larson 214 LXI last year (http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=370555). Unfortunately, the quality of these boats in the mid-90's is sub-par. However, the hull design makes for a spacious interior so may well be worth the rstoration. Plan on replacing the stringers as well as the deck. Larson did not cap them and if the floor is rotted, so are the stringers. Of course all the foam will need to be removed and replaced as well. You are going to be amazed how much water the foam has absorbed. The foam is a structural component of the mid-90's Larson design so replacement is a must.

I ended up going all composites on mine (Coosa board deck, Nidabond stringers) and think it was well worth the extra expense. Regardless, its a very doable job. The hardest part is battling the frustration of finding "another" rotted component.

Good luck!

Ben
