Hi gang. It never totally stalls out requiring restart. Rather, it just hicups and keeps on running. Just a single hiccup with the over heat and low oil warning lights flashing just once along with a single warning beep. Like you just turned the ignition key on and off really fast and it keeps running.

Hot or cold (engine temp). Hot or cold (air temp). Only at idle, and moving or just floating (hopefully). It can ocurr one time only or again in one minute or 10 minutes or 15. Up to this point it has been running perfectly. (Probably should not have said that. Damn Murphy anyway) Above 1000 rpms I'm pretty sure it does not happen. Most seasoned boaters are at one with their engine and the least little variation is noted ( except after beer number 4. Just kidding. Actually beer number 6. No, no just a bad joke. Alcohol + boating = stupid) but pretty certain no issues as running speed. No other symptoms or signs whatsoever and it started out of no where about three outings ago.

These intermittant problems are madding but any thoughts? I may just have to pony up and let the Mercury guy plug in his computer and see what's what. Thanks for the feedback!

Try adjusting the mixture screws on the carbs. If that doesn,t work then likely water is getting into more than likely the exhaust cover. It may be a small bit of water at pesent but will get worse as it gets used.
