I have recently started to have an issue, when running at mid range, 3800 to 4200 rpm, after a while the engine will start dropping rpm's, I can open it up wide open and it will continue to run fine. If I drop back down to cruise, it will all of the sudden start slowing down... Opening the throttle full and it runs fine again. The bulb is not collapsing, no obstructions on the tank pick up and new hose ran to the engine. This condition usually doesn't start happening until I have been running for a half hour or so. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I've been searching and am starting to suspect the tank vent or possible fuel pump, but why would I be able to floor it and have it go to full throttle when it was dropping rpm's in midrange? Any other ideas? I am going to start trouble shooting this weekend.
