1996 Merc Tiller idle trouble

Heres the problem, i can choke it to start and it will run for 5 or so seconds then cuts off and pitttersss out! The gas is clean w/ good oil mix so its not that. It will continue to start if i keep choking it to crank it up. Just wont run for long. Any guesses???

Hi,

If you can keep it running with the choke then the fuel system is the problem.
I would check the carbs for water.
