Can't figure this out. The motor starts right up but dies as soon as it's put in gear (forward or reverse). If I "slam" it in gear and immediately go to high RPMs it runs strong. It'll idle fine as well. Is there some sort of interrupter switch on this motor that could cause this? Appreciate any help!

First check spark cranking on all cyls, one or two dead cyls at idle will die once load is placed on the motor.

Disconnect the throttle cable and while cranking move the lever to full throttle and back to idle, S L O W L Y , all the while watching the spark to see if it fails at any point in movement.

A trigger wire can be broken yet the ends abutted, functioning then failing as the wires are flexed.

Repeat test on each cyl.

Report your findings.
