I have a 1996 merc two stroker on an 18' Searay. The engine starts great, runs great above 4000 RPM, but bogs miserably between 3000 and 4000 RPM.
I have checked compression and it is 120PSI on all three cylinders. I have replaced the thermostat, plugs, poppet, and fuel filter. This has had no effect. The boat takes forever to get out of the hole. It bogs and very slowly moves through the RPM range until it hits 4000 RPM, then it takes off.
Please help with advice.
Thanks,
Joe
