I have 96 Sea Rayder sport jet with a 120xr 4 cylinder twin carb motor, I have checked compression, all between 140 to 150, cleaned the carbs and installed new gaskets and cleaned vent lines, and jets. took fuel pump apart and checked screen and it was clean, getting spark on all 4 cylinders but will not pull fuel from carbs to the motor. I crank the motor with the air box off and no fuels coming out of the carbs, take the float bowls off and they have fuel in them am I missing something here? thanks for the input

It will also backfire really bad every once in a while so I'm starting to think it's the electronic fuel solenoid for cold start ups..but I'm still not seeing gas go from the carbs into the engine with the breather box off

Does that engine have a primer bulb in the fuel line to the engine? When priming can you get it hard to squeeze? If not, you have a hole somewhere down stream...carb needle not seating, hole is fuel line, hole in fuel pump, steering valve in fuel pump not sealing. If it gets hard, possibly you have a cracked line to the bulb from the tank or a bad bulb. That's where I'd start looking.

no primer bulb, I guess this boat is the year with the electronic lift pump to get it to the fuel pump on the side of the motor, I took the fuel pump apart and the gaskets all looked good when I took them off and it seems to be pump enough gas into a soda can to at least kick over if not start up. thanks for the info

well it turned out it was the rev limiter on the boat..checked for fire again and it didnt have any, unplugged to rev limiter and it started up, problem must of been intermitent becasue i had checked for spark before and it had good spark in all 4 cylinders. figured id post this to maybe help someone else out
