All,

I am looking at purchasing a 1996 Thundercraft 240 Express. The current owner has not replaced the bellows (any of them it appears) in the 3 years that he has owned it. It doesnt appear to be cracked, or otherwise in a state of near failure but this has me concerned as I know the costs it CAN lead too, though I am not fully clued on the average cost here in Southern MD to have this replaced at a Merc shop.

The boat is in otherwise great condition with new bottom paint, and I was unable to detect any soft spots while pinging the hull paying particular attention to the transom. Does anyone know how the 1996's were produced? Wood stringers/Transom? I have searched and though there are many older boats, I am not finding anything regarding the 1996 (next earliest year I found was 1994 but a different model/size).

Anything I should be looking for specifically with this boat? Known issues?

Thanks in advance,

oops!
