its starting to leak and i know it will only be a matter of time before it goes out. the pump that brings water to the motor. not sure of the correct name?

It's called water pump or (raw water pump). You'll find it at volvo penta dealers, volvo penta store (online), ebay and at many online marine stores.

Prepare yourself for an unpleasant surprise when you'll find out how much the pump is.
