I had to build a new motor for my boat. I built a 383. My question is do you have t use the origional flywheel. I used the one that came with the rotating assembly i bought that was balanced. After reading many formums on here i didn't see where anyone mentioned it. Now i have a knocking in the bellhousing area. This was my first repower on a inboard and didn't know about this site at the time. I know i didn't align the engine to gimbal housing. I figured that out from reading forums. Thanks for all the info everyone posts. I have learned alot so far. Thanks for your help.

Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,.... Were both flywheels of the same diameter,..??

If so, it shouldn't matter,....

Ya need a flywheel balanced to the motor,....

It all came with the kit. I don't if its balanced with the motor or not. Does that mean ill have to take it out and have the motor torn down to balance it. The kit was a balanced assembly I don't know about the flywheel. Thanks
