(I have a ? about this!)

The small yellow/red wire on the solenoid comes from the ignition switch. You should have 12V on the red wire at the switch and 12V on the yellow red wire when in the start position. So either you do not have power going to the switch or the switch is bad and not providing power to the solenoid. Or there is a problem with the yellow/red wire between the switch and the motor. Disconnect the plug at the wiring harness under the cowl and check all the pins.

I have a 1997 C.C. Sailfish with the shifter on the console, running a 1997 115 SPL Evinrude.
This is my problem, Motor run fine one day, and just clicked the starter over the next day. I've checked the battery, full charge, ok! I checked and cleaned all the terminals going from the bat. and the motor, ok!
I tried to start the motor again, and the starter sounded like it was frying inside. Not good.

Ok, I take the starter off and go get it rebuilt, put it back on, cleaning all wires ends before I did so, Hooked the battery back up, and turned the ignition on, and the starter just clicked a few times and then nothing. ok!

I tried to jump the solenoid with two long screw-drivers and the starter just barely spun over...huh! I don't know where to go from here. But looking at this older post, I saw where you were talking about that red and yellow wire that goes from the starter to the ignition.

OK, I checked that wire and found that I'm not getting any power at the ignition or the starter at the on position.
(Does this mean that my switch is bad?)

I think the waters deep where I'm at.....Help!

No power goes to the red and yellow wire when the key is turned to On. The voltage flows to the starter solenoid through the red and yellow wire when the key is turned to Start. http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc281/originalseahorse/keyswitchwiring.jpg

The battery voltage to run the starter motor flows through the starter solenoid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LqHPzc2y-YQ

About half the time, problems like yours are caused by bad battery cables. The cables corrode inside the sheathing where you cannot see it, and they cannot carry the load.
