AHHHH, I am at wits end, been 11 months putting this boat back together. Go to FINALLY start it and NO BLOODY SPARK. It is all I can handle right now to fill that baby full of 9mm rounds. I was so exited, now uter disappoinment!!!!

I will try again in the AM, ANY IDEAS GANG! Like right off the bat no brainers. I went through each connection all secure, I know I have fuel, but no spark, Hear EFI pumping up, Spins like the devil, Even put timing light on lead just to make sure my eyes were telling the truth. I hav eyet to obtain manula so not sure what voltages should be while cranking, color code is differnt than old 200, as far as wires coming from stator.
Again, not thinking to clearly now. SO ANY SUGGESTION AT ALL ARE WELCOME!!! :(

mike, got power to the ignition 'puter? you know, blown fuses......the crank position sensor will not let the puter give spark if it isn't positioned correctly...040" air gap between it an the flywheel.....those are your first and 2nd easy ones...good luck...

1st thing I checked were fuses and wiring, not sure how to verify ECU getting juice? Saw the sensor you are refering to, look like a liitle more than .040 to me. Also had suggestion to disconnect pigtail at motor and jump selenoid and see if she sparks, I guess that would eliminate any problems in wire harness to ignition. I am so fustrated with this...Motor is beautiful, I actully got a nice motor, I ws so freaking proud of it, Now its just an anchor till it starts )-:
I have a feeling I am in for a LOOOOOONNNNNNNG day tomorrow. My email is
misselha@tampabay.rr.com if intersted in a long winded letter tomorrow of what happend..
Hmmm air fare is cheap right now, Want to come to Florida for a few days????????

Thanks ODDD1, good to see a Merc guy reply! :)

Stator output low speed, red lead to blue switch termial, black to ground 100 to 265 volts at cranking rpm. High speed red lead to red switch termial black to ground, 25 to 50 volts at cranking rpms with meter with DVA function or peak reading meter. Disconnect black/yellow at switch box and see if you have spark at sparkplug. Black/yellow is kill wire when disconnected you bypass switch , emerg stop and wireing harness.

Post on other board indicates wireing harness was your problem, correct?

Yes clanton, something in harness that came with boat. Using that harness starter spins and fuel pump is operable, however no spark. I was at the end of my rope because this motor dose not have switchboxes to do all the normal ignition tests, was about to drop some serious coin in an ECU analyzer. But then as a last ditch effort swapped harness with old 200 harnes with has keyswitch and choke and kill switch all internal to control box. When I put this harness online, was able to hear fules pump, But would not spin. I jumped the selenoid ant in about 1.5 turns it lit up. AMAZING, all kind of black goop and crap out of exhaust, but I expected that with motor laying on its side during transport. So now comes the fune part, Wire for wire trace and continuity check. Still unable to find manual for 225..so this may take awhile.

So almost ther, Know motor and elecronics are good, that was a BIG relief. But more head scratchin in the near future!

Thanks for your interest and any suggestions are more than welcome!

Yo Ho Ho and a bottle of Amsoil!
