I would like to use Mobil One or something similar in my engine with 400 easy hours on it. Can anyone here recommend which brands of synthetic and viscosity to use?

Thank you.

Not sure what that will accomplish other than thinnning out your wallet. Stick with what Merc reccomends.

Here's what Mercury suggests using.

If you don't want to use what Mercury suggests, you can use what ever you desire. ALL oils have been tried and reported here as "didn't cause problems".....Or you could use what I use......

Knock yourself out!

Here are a few links to other oil threads to help assist you in choosing
your oil.
They all come down to the same thing, people posting something like
"I use ___(Fill in the blank)___ and it works great"
