Anyone running a 90hp force outboard with a jet unit? I already have the Engine, and it runs very good with the propeller. I have a 19' aluminum bass boat, and i get top speeds in the mid 40s. I have found a jet unit for this engine, and i'm highly considering it. I know i'm going to loose 1/3 power with the jet, but you guys think it'll work?

How much are you spending for the jet unit and are you absolutely certain it will bolt up possibly with only minor modifications? Unless you really have a need for it because you fish shallow water, It probably won't be worth it.

If, however, you are not investing a lot of money and are doing it for experimentation or just to be different, then go for it. Hell, If I found a jet unit for say, a couple of hundred, I probably would go for it just to see what happens. I figure a couple of hundred is only 2-3 tanks of gas. Put that way, it doesn't seem that much.

Your Force, being a Force in name and engine block only, and having mostly Mercury parts should not give much trouble with the change-over. MAYBE!

If your life is like mine, you will find that nothing ever comes easy and everything always fights you. Good luck. If you do it, repost with the details of installation and the results. I for one would be very interested.
