Hi. I have a 1997 volvo penta 3.0 once I get it started it runs great, but when I shut it off it seems to lose its prime and I have to advance the throttle to get it started. I understand it’s probably a fuel line, but where do I start? And what do I look for? It is carbureted, but it seems like it should just fire right up if it was just running. I can drive for 15 mins, shut it off for ten mins. And have to advance the throttle to get it started again. Just doesn’t seem right. Any input would be appreciated. Thank you.

Ayuh,...... It's not uncommon to have to advance the throttle when startin' a carbed motor,.....

After running the boat as usual remove the flame arrestor when you stop the engine. Look down the air horn and check a few times to see if fuel is boiling out of the float chamber and going down the throttle body. You could be experiencing a flooded condition.

Hi. I’d be looking at the choke for function. Common for the auto choke to cause issues
