I'm looking at a 1997 Pursuit with twin Crusader 5.7 inboard engines. 260hp. They have about 460 hours each and are closed cooled (I'm assumming that means fresh water cooled).

Does anyone have any info on these...reliability, fuel burn...

Thanks, Val.

good engines- almost 10 years old- change exhaust manifolds and risers asap or you will be sorry. new engines are 5k apiece.

Great boat with a good power package. Manifolds should be ok since they are cooled by the closed cooling system. The risers should be changed about every three to four years since that boat is probably used in salt water. If maintained properly should be good for another 1500 to 2000 hours.

You didnt say how big the boat is. If it less than 32 ft I would venture to say 1 to 1.25 miles per gallon @ cruise if in good tune and clean bottom.
