Hello to all;

I just changed out my engine from yamaha 85hp to a Honda 90 4 stroke. Runs great and all. My question is what is a good rpm cruising speed? I've never had a four stroke outboard and I can use all the good advice out there. Thanks:redface:

Cruising speed?This engine should idle at around 950 and top out around 6 grand.Anywhere in between will be considered cruising speed.Much of that depends on hull design and your own comfort levels.Is there a problem you are trying to solve?

I don't think my reply posted. Anyway, no theres no detetable problems. I was just making sure that I don't over load the engine unnecessarily. The only thing I notice is that the engine would palne at 5500 rpm. The engine has an trim plane stabilizer mounted. I'm considering taken it off. Ithink the stabilizer is holding back the boat rom planing sooner. Don't know though, what you think?
