1997 Johnson 115 Ocean Runner Power Tilt

I was told by my mechanic, that the engine has to be taken off of the boat to replace my power tilt assembly, which is pretty rusty and may need to be replaced soon. Is this true??

i would think so seeing it holds it to the transom mount.

thanks - looks like it will be a costly repair when it has to be replaced....
