More problems. Just got the boat back from the shop and they corrected some issues that involved water getting around the head O-rings. Now I am having problems with the throttle. It feels like it is sticking or not engaging the transmission. Also, when i put it in reverse, I have to put it all the way down to get the transmission to activate and sometimes it doesnt activate at all. The Throttle feels tight as though the cable is not moving freely.

Any ideas. i am concerned that something was not re-assembled correctly following the service.

Disconnect cables at engine and check for travel. They should respond freely.

If they do then you may have to do as I did.

Open remote control box and follow lube instructions in service manual.
Once everything is cleaned and lubed, close up box and re-install onto boat.
Now, go back to engine and follow lube instruction for throttle and shifter linkages as per manual.

I have been fighting with my '79 55 Evie for a couple weeks now and I followed the advice of a fellow shipmate in here and now my controls are working like NEW...

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure...
