Looking at buying this motor . Any pro or cons ... Does the big foot mean it's made for pushing loads like pontoons boats .. It would be going on a 15.5 ft trihull
C/C fishing boat .. Would I expect slower performance or does the big foot really make a difference ?

The lower unit is larger and has a greater gear reduction than the standard model, sometimes finding a prop with enough pitch to work correctly on a small light boat can be a problem.

Shouldn't be a problem to find a prop as same size unit on 70-125hp motors you can get up to a 23pitch but will likely need a 15pitch..

Thanks for the response ! Are the big foot models very much heavier than the reg type foot . I think the prop that's on there is a 17 p .. Just concerned with the performance I would get with my small trihull ...

If those other props fit, then you shouldn't have a problem finding one that works, some high thrust models don't have enough prop choices to get it dialed in correctly. It will be slightly heavier and there will be a little more drag form the larger lower unit, so it may make a slight difference in top speed.
