Guys,
Mercruiser 3.0L LX - 1997
I'm still in the middle of solving a fuel issue with his boat but while at it I was going to change the plugs, plug wires, distributor, and rotor button. Plug wires are on. Time to remove plugs. Im seeing a lot of rust around base of plugs on the engine block. I'm afraid to just muscle these things out. Ive sprayed with some penetrating oil but its still really tuff to break loose. Any thought? Should I just muscle through it? I'm scared of snapping off the plugs?
Then its on to the distributor and rotor. Is there any chance of screwing up the timing by changing the distributor cap out? I'm a believer in don't fix it if it aint broke. But this is an old boat and I would hate to have something simple like those items fail.
