The motor does nothing when you turn the key no choke no start, the batteries are good 12.5 volts. I checked the switch on control box verified that it is in run position also the battery connections are good getting 12 volts to starter solenoid, When I first tried it did engaged the starer but now have nothing as I said push in for choke and nothing when trying to start. Any ideas ?

So if the starter clicked as wanted to engage can the solenoid be bad? how do you get the starter to work put direct power to the main terminal and ground, if this works that solenoid is bad?

Took starter to rebuild guy he took it apart said that its good. I took jumper cables from a battery checked at 12.5 volts put direct power to starter and it barely turns motor. Any ideas as to what is wrong , Thanks for any suggestions.

Sounds like you have a bad starter...that's how I check my starter on my boat with jumper cables...if that bendix does not jump and turn, something is wrong with that starter. I would take it back to the guy that rebuilt it and ask him just to test the starter and see what happens. And allow you to see him test it.
