1997 Mercury 225 EFI

I have a 1997 Mercury 225 EFI, that runs fine up to about54-5500 rpm, then acts like you shut off fuel, you can let off the gas and it will idle, and you can get right back on it? I have replaced all hoses, primer bulb, and tightened all connections thinking that I was getting air,. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check the antisiphon valve in the fuel tank pickup. some of them have a screen that gets partially clogged. Check the pickup screen as well, if it is separate.
