I am at a loss right now after this weekend. Took my son fishing and crabbing and on the return trip the engine started squealing and was running hot around 200. I pulled back on the throttle and slowed to check the engine but before I could I lost power steering so I knew we lost a belt. The engine clunked and shut off. I threw the anchor and pulled off the engine cover to see the main drive belt snapped off. Water pump and alternator belts were still good. This is the second time in 2 seasons that this has happened. What could be causing this engine to keep eating these belts?

Will the rust cause it to squeal the way it does? When i first start it the engine squeals for about 15 seconds than purs like a kitten. When i am underway i have no issues until i trim up or down and then it squeals whil i am trimming?
