Thing won't start after sitting for 4 years.
Gas stinks to high heaven. How do I get it all out and what do ya do with it?
The fuel pump only makes a slight clicking sound about once per second. Shouldn't it buzz like a spinning motor sounds?
I plan to remove the VST and clean it and change the fuel filter but, I'm new to boat mechanics. Is there anything else I should do? As in, general procedures a guy SHOULD do for a boat that has sat like this?
I plan to change the water impeller too - since it sat so long unused - but, I'd sure like to hear the motor run a minute or 2 first.
Thanks to all.
Serial Number is 0G503050 if that helps.

sounds like you already tried ta start it???.. which means it already "tried" ta pump that nasty stuff through it!.. ta do it right, ya got a job ahead of you...

first get rid of all old gas and oil... replace every piece of fuel line and filters (including tha one at tha bottom of elect. pump) on tha motor and from tha tank.. including bleed lines.. rebuild fuel rail with new O-rings and such.. send injectors out to be cleaned or replace if won't come up ta spec.. rebuild mech fuel pump.. check electric pump for rust and junk.. clean then apply 12v to see if it will still run (outside tha vst).. if oiler is still intact and ya plan on keepin' it pre-mix any thing ya run at 50 ta 1 till ya know its workin' as it should... probably some other things i'm missin' for now.... do not try ta run it till ya put "new water pump kit" in it.....

have you got an OEM manual?
