This motor is on a 19ft sea nymph, it is oil injected. It is for sale for $5500 and I was wondering if anyone knows how good it does on gas? Does it do better than a standard mix 2stroke outboard? Thanks

That IS a standard two stroke. Oil injected won't make any fuel use difference. A DI (Direct Injected) motor is way better on fuel (i.e. E-Tec).

Actually a marine engine will use fuel at a rate about 10% of the hp rating.
We use 10% to figure it in your head.Modern engines are closer to 9%
older motors probably a little over 10%.

So what does that boil down to? How many gallons will it use trolling around 2 to 3mph for 6 hours? My old 1968 6hp evinrude will burn up about 3 to 4 gallons in that time.

And why would you expect a 6HP motor to use about the same as a 110HP??? I would guess 1.25 to 1.75 gph trolling for the 110 HP.

The 10% is for running the mtr at WOT. A 100 hp would use 10 GPH at WOT.
