I have a 1998 115 SPL Johnson and when I start the boat up in a cruddy bay and let it warm up and then start driving the boat for about 5 minutes the warning alarm sounds under the dash...This doesnt do it every time, but often. I was told that alarm meant the motor wasnt getting enought oil or was overheating. I think it could be overheating just because I start the motor in the crudy water to begin with....My question is, when the alarm goes off, is that a sersious damaging temperature level or just a heads up that you're running a little hot? Do you think ive done any damage to my engine? Are there 2 differnt alarms for oil and overheating or just the same one? How do I tell which one needs attention? Its on a glastron boat. Also what is different with the SPL model engine? Thanks, Joe
