Hi folks,

I was out at the lake this past weekend, first time putting my boat in the water, after boating for about an hour, I noticed that whenever I would start the engine, the warning buzzer would chirp once approximately 5 seconds after it had started. It would not make any other noises or chirps. I don't have a temperature gauge, but the top of the head didn't feel very hot- I could easily keep my hand on it.

Any idea what one chirp means?

Thanks!

Kent B.

If your oil level was gettin down near 1/4 tank, you may get a chirp now and again. If the chirp starts to sound at regular intervals (30 seconds or so), then you are below 1/4 tank. Sometimes when you are getting up on plane the level indicator will give you a chirp as the oil pushes to the stern.
Good Luck

Jade....That's just the self test of the system, it does it everytime you turn the key on, whether you start it or not. Good luck with the boat.

MMC If the chirp is 5 seconds after the motor starts, I don't think it's the self-test. That would occur before starting.
