1998 150 mariner ?

I wanted to get input on a 1998 150 mariner . I can get one that need rebuilding in good shape and a good price . Or would I be better buying a 150 mercury instead ? Are they made by mercury and do a lot of parts interchange with the mercury ? Thank's for the input . JB

It's the same motor except for paint and decals

We could in 1998 they were coming down the same assembly lines as Mercurys were and onsale to the american market till the last couple of years when the US dealer network was discontinued
