1998 175 EFI voltage regulator

My voltage regulator burnt up and I need to replace it. The curent regulator has 7 wires coming from it. All the new regulators I have seen online dont have that many wires. I was wondering if someone could help me out to why my regulator has an extra wire and how may I go about correcting this problem. Thanks for any advice.

Some of the aftermarket rect/reg do not have extra red and some do not have the external grnd

Thats what it is.... Mine actually has 6 wires not 7, and the after market has 5. Must be because it does not have the external ground. Thanks for the comment.
