1998???1999 fourstroke 9.9 kill switch

the kill switch went out on my 9.9 evinrude, and the cheapest i can find the dang thing is like 80-85 bucks, anyone know of a cheaper alternative to this problem.

What is the model number of your motor? I thought the full list price was only $45.

Just select the diagram in the upper right corner, then navigate to your motor.

I have retrofitted my 79 - 9.9 with a lanyard kill switch made by Sea-dog. I have no idea if it will fit yours though. Mine wasn't part of the tiller handle. They are available on the web and at Toys R Us for about 15 dollars c/w a lanyard. Might be worth looking into. Eighty seams a bit steep but if it's the only one that fits I guess your hooped. You might try checking into cleaning the ground wire connection from the switch to your motor as that might be all that is wrong. Best of luck, Rick.
