hi all - first post to introduce us...3 loafs that went out and bout a 1998 proline 20ft sport - we know nothing about boats - but like to fish...live on the gulf...and thought it would be fun - so we pulled the trigger and dropped 10K and had the seller drop it off in front of one of our houses - we were not informed...did little research...but looked on craigslist and zeroed in on a few in our range and just went for it - this is what the add says:
"1998 Proline boat, This is a great boat in good shape. 20 foot, Deep V, Johnson ocean runner 150 ( has less then 80 hours ) apx...., bimini top, VHS ratio, Garmin dept finder, fish box, bait well, 100 gal tank. trailer has NEW, wood, carpet, winch, bearing, tires and rollers. This stuff was just replaced about late last year. Boat has been will maintained and has had all the normal up keeps done to it on a regular bases...please call with questions! "
over the phone he says the boat has 80 hours (for some reason all the adds said either 36 or 80 hours is there some magic to those numbers due to warranty or something)? - everything original except live fish well motor and battery - did do enough research to know not to get the fuel injected johnsons from this ear...this one is carbureted - he says everything on the engine is original.
anyway, we just want to go out and fish, take out our families - we'll see how it goes - hope to find good info on this forum and hope to be able to contribute - ed
