I Have a 90deg looper 1998 200 I bought cheap in the Summer with hopes to make it a runner. It had a torn up Cyl. Otherwise very clean and non-Salty in and out.

I recently took it completely apart, cleaned everything. I measured all holes, pistons, rings fine except the damaged one. Took the block in to a known Marine machine shop. He bored out the damaged sleeve, and called me.

It had what he called a "push" in the cylinder block wall. A dent- if you will. So I picked it up today and carefully looked at it. SEE PICS. After careful examination, and getting a light into the water jacket holes---that Cyl wall is cracked. I can see the crack on the cylinder Backside in the water jacket.

Hopes dashed... Going to recoop my initial 400bucks by Parting it. Lower, TNT and all Electronics are clean. UNLESS those in-the-know have any further thoughts on welding up that wall somehow, and re-machining?? Not sure if that is even done in this type case.

Its wierd because initially the sleeve, although banged up, didnt appear to have this "dent" in it....But it sure did dent the block. It was a rod cap bolt that broke.

Appreciate the thoughts.
