Just bought this beautiful 20ft Starcraft with the above motor. Ran beautifully when I test drove it. Got it home, installed a depth finder, took it to the river and it will not crank. The gauges work, trim works, key in the "on" position produces a couple beeps but when I go to start, it doesn't make a sound. I feel like I'm missing something simple. I back checked my depth finder install. I can't see anything wrong. It's in neutral. The kill switch lanyard is correct. Is there a circuit breaker somewhere?

Any thoughts? I'm a little frustrated.

Thank you

I think I might have found something. There are two wires that come out of the controller. They are both yellow/red, which the schematic says is "neutral start switch" leads. These are not connected to anything. They are in a rod locker unprotected, so I'm wondering if these were unconnected while rods were being removed. The problem now is the wiring is too far back to reach. Does this sound like it could be my problem?

Somehow the original poster had knocked the yellow/red wires loose from the nuetral switch, disabling the starter until the wires were reconnected correctly.

Do you have a thread about your problem?
