I have 1998 225 Ocean Runner that currently runs perfect. I disconnected the VRO and started premixing after I bought the boat last year. Someone told me the other day that I need to replace the fuel pump/VRO that is on the motor now and put a new pump on there that is just a fuel pump without the VRO. He said the one on there now will eventually lock up because it no longer has oil lubricating the VRO side of the pump. Is this correct or should I just leave it the way it is?

Leave it the way it is xpress. These pumps can work for years with out failing. If either the pump section or the motor section goes bad, kits are available to repair them or you can get the fuel pump alone if you do not want to have oil injection.

So, disconnecting the VRO dosen't affect the life of the fuel pump? If thats the case then I will leave as it is. Thanks.

1998 225's didn't come with VRO. It should be an OMS pump. If you hook the injection back up I'd bet you'd be impressed.
