I recently picked up 1998 Four winns 180 Horizom with a cracked engine block for a pretty good deal

When I got the boat the intake was removed and the fuel injection system was partially dismantled to diagnose the internal crack, I went through all the work of removing the engine, swapping everything onto a rebuilt long block, and then reinstalling it. Once I got everything installed I went to turn the key and got nothing. The dash lights and gauges don't even move so I know I must has an electrical issues or short somewhere.

I checked all my plugs and harnesses over and over

Everything has a place and fits tightly

What am I missing?

everything else in the boat works so it can't be battery.

The shifter is in neutral and I wiggled it around to make sure the safety which isn't sticking.

Any special procedures with the fuel injection?

Any help would be great I'm at wits end.

Do you have the lanyard on correctly? Its somewhere near the throttle. That kills the dash as well as the engine on my Four Winns.

The lanyard does not stop power to the instruments or prevent the engine from cranking, it only stops the ignition.

Have you checked the circuit breakers with a meter or test light? They may have failed internally. You may have a 50A breaker on the starboard exhaust manifold.
Do you know the FULL model number or serial number of the old engine? Year of the boat, may not be the same as the year of your engine, and in the late 90's the wiring changed yearly.

Hi Don,

I'm going to check the circuit breakers now there are actually four on the engine, and 1 for the ignition. On the engine there are three where the harness plugs in and on on
