I have GLM's on my 4.3 and like them... there are some people that would not use them due to issues... with mating surfaces for example... but those are from years past and they have cleaned up there act with quality issues big time... just make sure you get there new stuff... I now have several hundred hours on mine that are raw water cooled and always in the salt water... I have split them apart to check them out and about 200 hours and they look great... I do flush with fresh water for 5-10 mins after every trip and run salt away for the last 2-3 mins... that's my 2c you can take it for what you paid for it! :thumb:

Mercury . . . Barr . . . Osco

Those are the more top-shelf brands, if that is what you are looking for.

I dont think you can make a bad choice though some here will debate that statement.10 years ago I replaced one of my motors with Osco and the other with GLM.I fresh water flush after every use and I mead every use and store for winter with old school antifreeze 50/50 mix.Just pulled Osco off for PM replacement and they look absolutely fine.could pass for 2 year old manifolds and risers.Just did same with GLM and they looked just as fresh as the Osco.I would say that the fresh water flush is more important than the brand. If you are going the "premium" route I would get Mercruiser brand.Charlie
