1998 50 horse Johnson spl

Hello everyone I am new to this site and was wondering where I could get a service manual for this motor? It runs great just wanting to do some basic maintenance on it like changing the impellor, also does anyone know what spl means, is there a difference in a regular 50 horse and a 50 horse spl? Thanks for any help you can give me.

that manual covers the 50 and the 50 spl

there are a few of them on eBay actually- new and used- that one seems to be the cheapest but total manual + ship for each and see- some sellers offer free shipping
others offer the manual cheaper but do not discount the shipping

Welcome to iboats, and I see you are another Indiana boy.

Look here in the iboats store and get the OEM manual(not Seloc,Clymers or anything on CD)

The OEM manual covers only your engine and nothing else, as to the SPL, I don't know what that means, could just be the model.

iboats does not carry the 1998 manual BRP still owns the copyright.
